International Transport Workers’ Federation and Joint Negotiating Group have reached an agreement regarding wage increases for seafarers. In 2022, there will be a 3% wage increase, and in 2023 it will be another 1.5%.
The union and employers took part in a meeting in September this year and finally this amount was agreed upon between the two groups. It was quite a challenge to estimate profit margins since each employer has different profit margins. Every seafarer in every corner of the globe did their best to keep the ships running so that the trade could be moved all over the world. It was decided to raise salaries as a result.
Employers from all over the world were represented by Joint Negotiating Group. Also An increase in JNG members’ rebate from the ITF Welfare Fund to 20% to contribute to the IBF Seafarers Support Fund. To know more about merchant navy you must visit HERE
